Since 2022, the Pays de la Loire Region has been relying on Suadeo’s data platform to manage part of its public policies. During the Big Data & AI Paris conference, the DTN and AI teams shared their vision of self data analytics within the broader context of digital sovereignty in an interview with It For Business. In this discussion, Aymeric de Maussion, Director of AI, and Olivier Guillon, Head of Data & AI, provided a concrete account of how the Region is structuring its data- and AI-driven transformation.

“When you’re a local authority, there are two main priorities: helping users become data-literate and building the data foundation,” explains Aymeric de Maussion, Director of AI for the Pays de la Loire Region.
“We work on data hand-in-hand with the business teams, because first and foremost, it’s their data,”
adds Olivier Guillon, Head of Data & AI at the Region’s DTN.
Sovereign AI and Democratized Data
The Region has chosen a pragmatic approach based on experimentation and co-construction with business users.
“This pragmatic approach is combined with a desire to democratize analytics through prompting. AI helps project trends, explore scenarios, and adjust parameters to support decision-making, without overburdening already stretched data teams,” reports It For Business.
“Business teams can now create their own dashboards without any technical skills, simply by prompting,” explains Olivier Guillon.
Sovereignty and Resilience: “A Strategic Guiding Principle”
“We need to be confident that regions are resilient. And this resilience necessarily involves sovereignty “, summarizes Aymeric de Maussion in his interview with It For Business.
This requirement is reflected in the Region’s governance model, which is fully managed within the data platform. Every step of the data lifecycle, from anonymization and access control to environment protection, is designed to ensure a robust chain of trust. The implementation of Suadeo IA, an on-premise artificial intelligence solution developed by Suadeo and integrated into each module of the data platform, reinforces this strategic approach while enhancing decision support capabilities.
“It’s much more accessible now… giving business users greater autonomy,” notes Olivier Guillon in his interview.
“Projects are designed with data from the very beginning, continuously monitored, and efficiency becomes an objective criterion for public action,” concludes It For Business.
