How Crédit Agricole combines people, data, and AI in its performance management

What if the future of bank performance management lay at the intersection of human expertise and artificial intelligence? That’s the vision of Crédit Agricole d’Île-de-France, which has been rolling out an ambitious self data analytics strategy in partnership with Suadeo for several years. In 2025, the regional bank is giving its teams the opportunity to accelerate their analyses thanks to Suadeo’s AI assistants. The Head of Commercial Performance Measurement shares his insights.

Excerpt from the Crédit Agricole & Suadeo Conference

With 1.6 million clients, 271 branches, and over 4,100 employees, Crédit Agricole d’Île-de-France (CA IDF) has made data a cornerstone of its strategy. Julien Renaud, Head of Commercial Performance Measurement, explains :

My role is to provide our branch network with all the tools needed to manage and monitor their activity.

Since 2018, the partnership with Suadeo has equipped 2 800 users with an all-in-one self data analytics platform, covering all business domains: Human Resources, Training, Marketing, Operations & Risk, and Sales Management.

We’ve managed to cover every area : HR, employee monitoring, training effectiveness, leave management, marketing, business transformation and sales activity management, performance gaps, individual tracking, risk management, and more.

Governance and security: the foundation of autonomy

With several million lines of data, governance and security are critical issues. CA IDF has therefore implemented a Digital Trust Charter ensuring GDPR compliance, anonymization, and data security.

We have strict governance, security, and anonymization requirements, while also striving to strengthen business autonomy.

This shared governance model enables employees to design and consume their own analyses without relying entirely on IT teams.

We want to combine the best of people and the best of digital. Data and AI will play a central role in this transformation.

When Artificial Intelligence simplifies performance management

The next step is to put AI at the service of performance management. Currently, managers spend 1–2 hours per week compiling results from various dashboards. Tomorrow, with Suadeo AI, they’ll be able to converse directly with their data.

AI will allow them to ask simple questions such as: “Who are my employees currently in training?”,
“How effective was the insurance training?”, “How are sales performing in my business unit?”

Users will ask their questions, in writing or by voice, and the AI assistant will instantly generate bar charts, pie charts, personalized KPIs, and predictive analyses, without complex queries or multiple clicks. A major time saver for branch managers and sales teams.

A robust, secure, and traceable data architecture

Alongside CA IDF, Mohamed Bendjebbour, Head of R&D at Suadeo, explains the technical foundations of the system:

We’ve built a robust data platform covering the entire data lifecycle, from the virtualization layer (connected to all CA IDF data sources) and ETL pipelines for transformations, to the predictive layer. This includes a Data Catalogue for documentation, traceability, and quality management. The AI understands all metadata and serves users according to the platform’s governance rules, ensuring total security.

Not one AI, but several specialized AI assistants

Unlike traditional solutions, Suadeo doesn’t offer a single, monolithic AI, but multiple specialized AI assistants, each focused on a specific domain.

Instead of a single all-purpose AI, we provide several virtual assistants that support all users, from technical profiles working on data virtualization layers to business users in cataloging or data visualization.

Where classic dataviz tools stop, Suadeo’s AI assistant takes over. A branch manager can simply ask, verbally or in writing: “Can you create a dashboard showing the distribution of employees by role?”

Within seconds, the assistant generates the most relevant visualization (pie chart, histogram, heat map, etc.) and can even calculate new indicators on the fly, such as employee seniority.

Available on desktop and mobile, it offers complete autonomy to non-technical users within a fully secure environment.

Transparency, traceability, and trust

Every action, data point, and transformation is documented and traceable thanks to the platform’s automated data lineage.

We know who is consuming data, when, and what transformations it has undergone before reaching the user.

This transparency strengthens internal trust and ensures end-to-end data management, from collection to visualization.

A shared vision: empowering business users with data

At both Suadeo and Crédit Agricole, the conviction is the same:

The best person to answer a business question is the business user themselves.

Through a unified, secure, and intelligent platform, CA IDF enables its users to:

  • explore their data self-service
  • interact in natural language with custom AI assistants within the data platform
  • generate instant visualizations and predictions
  • while maintaining the highest standards of data governance, fully compliant with GDPR and other regulations
