Is DataViz sufficient to free up non-IT users?

Operating in a dozen countries around the world, the Valmont group has experienced strong growth since its creation in 1985. To control its growth and stay in step with its customers, VALMONT must have agility and immediate analytical capacity in its cosmetics market.

After a recent experience of implementing a DataViz solution on its Data Lake in SaaS mode, VALMONT has made the observation that Data Visualization does not allow the Autonomy of the businesses and also does not bring the responsiveness imposed by the market.

As Fabienne Le Tadic notes, «We have understood that the person who can answer a complex business question in a very short time is the person who asks this question!»

DataViz’s tools allow the Business Lines to visualize the data and build their own restitutions. But they do not include the functions of Data Management and do not allow them to simply access the management rules of their data in order to adapt them to the analysis of the moment.

Also, when the data does not correspond to the analysis that users want to make, DataViz does not avoid them iterations with Informatics or delays to get new ones.
