“For data analysis during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the Rugby World Cup, the specialist company Suadeo was chosen over the joint venture between Atos and Thales as well as Palantir. The Ministry of the Interior has a tight schedule and budget.”

“The Ministry of the Interior will use the platform of Self Data Services from the French software developer Suadeo for data analysis during the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France and especially during the 2024 Olympic Games (JO) in Paris. (…) Suadeo is already working with Beauvau and the Ministry of Armed Forces.”

(…) “The platform should allow the Ministry of the Interior to aggregate and process data from many open source streams (social networks, media, transport and energy networks, etc., but also the information collected and transmitted on the ground by the police and gendarmerie. Beauvau uses this tool to enable the National Strategic Command Centre (CNCS) and the Interdepartmental Crisis Centre (CIC) to detect any “weak signals” prefiguring threats during the Rugby World Cup and the 2024 Olympic Games – and even after these deadlines.”

(…) The ministry first attempted to develop a platform based on software components (…) Toucan Toco. This experiment was a failure. Athea’s solution, the joint venture between Atos and Thales, has also been studied by the Ministry of the Interior. (…) The limited budget (…) and the need for an immediately functional tool have gone to Athéa’s disadvantage.
