Major events: the Ministry of the Interior equips itself with a big data platform

The announcement appeared in AEF Info. Suadeo’s software platform, deployed in less than five months for the Strategic Command Center (SNCC), helps authorities synthesize situations during major events to accelerate strategic decision-making. “Provide a strategic overview of the situation to the authorities: this is the objective of the solution implemented within the national strategic command center set up for major events,” says Éric Tiquet, Deputy Director of Innovation and Data at the Ministry of the Interior, during the Big Data & AI trade show, Monday 25 September 2023. This big data platform, published by the French company Suadeo, has been adapted to the needs of businesses “in less than five months”.(…)

“Created in 2004, Suadeo has historically worked with insurance and banks and today counts the health insurance, La Poste, the Ministry of Armed Forces and Île-de-France among its clients. Its platform is “present on the entire data cycle”, Cédric Bonamigo, director “public sector” at Suadeo, told AEF info, highlighting the company’s ability to “configure the product according to the needs of the trades”. ” In a few weeks, we have demonstrated our ability to respond.(…)

“Almost 150 open source data sets relating for example to transport were connected in the “digital hub”, alongside internal data from police services, gendarmerie or prefectures. These data, combined with visualisation tools, must make it possible to detect “emerging signals”, says Éric Tiquet. “This is what will give the intuition that an event will happen and that it can eventually take on a larger scale.”” (…) The objective is to produce a national and interdepartmental synthesis as well as decision support tools for authorities, in particular prefects and organizers. “The amount of information needed during JOP will be increased tenfold, says Éric Tiquet. “What we have set up for the Rugby World Cup has nothing to do with what we are developing for JOP needs”, confirms Cédric Bonamigo to AEF info, referring to the flame’s journey and the many sites that will be used for the event.”
