Self-BI: the crucial role of the sovereign cloud

If ease of use is the first criterion for choosing a self-BI solution, the question of security must prevail in the final decision. Explosion of data volumes, stricter regulations, increased risk of cyber attacks… Protecting sensitive data is more important than ever, and with the increasing adoption of cloud computing, the issue of sovereignty becomes crucial.

In a context where cyber attacks are rife, data security and confidentiality are more than ever at the heart of the concerns of private and public organizations. The new black gold is as valuable as potentially at risk if it is not hosted and handled according to the rules of the art and ensuring a maximum its back.

The more Business Intelligence reaches the highest levels of decision-making, the more sensitive data becomes. It is then that their manipulation reaches an absolute level of vigilance. And when the power of Business Intelligence solutions is in the hands of Business Users, the stakes are even higher.

The sovereign cloud: a priority for sensitive data

The concept of the sovereign cloud, which consists of hosting data within a nation and exclusively under its jurisdiction and control, is gaining ground. Suadeo made this choice by recommending the deployment of its data services platform in its sovereign cloud, Suadeo Cloud, hosted in France, in data centers that meet the highest security standards.

Encourage digital transformation in strict compliance with data protection

The condition of sovereignty quickly spread in the innovation projects of both private and public companies. It is also promoted by the French government, as part of its «Cloud at the center» doctrine, which has itself implemented several innovative initiatives to ensure the protection of citizens and users’ data. Among them, its internal cloud reserved for state administrations and dedicated to sensitive services.

This one breaks down into two offers, Nubo and Pi. The first being operated by DGFip and adapted to the hosting of sensitive data, the second, by the Ministry of the Interior and provided for products handling data of the type Restricted Distribution (DR). Enhanced security, control and transparency, additional guarantees for public administrations

While Suadeo offers its users its own sovereign cloud to ensure optimal protection of data and its use, its platform is also deployed on the Pi cloud, at the Restricted level, and in Kubernetes architecture. The latter distributes each micro-service of a platform within containers, one per container. Independent and autonomous, each micro-service can be modified, updated and deployed in isolation, without impacting other services or the active user experience. This “agile” system ensures the stability and scalability of Suadeo Self Data Services® in all circumstances.

By checking these two boxes, Cloud π (Pi) native in DR and Kubernetes, the Suadeo platform can now be deployed very quickly on behalf of any public and departmental organization. A considerable «Time To Market» accelerator even for large or sensitive projects.

Integrating a self-BI solution therefore requires a proactive approach to data security. The sovereign cloud answers these challenges. A guarantee of success and safety for the organization, but also, and not least, of trust for its customers and users.
